Teaching Plan

I have been teaching Grade 10 Camia and Sampagita at MMSU with Ma'am Trichia Limqueco Pagtaconan as the resource teacher. I taught earth science, specifically on the convergent plate boundaries chapter.

Before I teach, I first make observations. The observation can be in the form of seeing how ma'am trichia teaches, how to organize student grades, repairing damaged wall magazine and others.

Observation

What I like about the way my resource teacher, Ma'am Trichia, teaches is that she always makes sure her students understand by asking them what they have learned. And also during the lesson she is strict by having a rule that when she teaches it is not allowed to borrow stationery from anyone because it will be distracting.

Learning Method

I used Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to be my learning method which PBL is an educational approach that centers around students actively engaging in solving real-world problems. Instead of traditional methods that rely on direct instruction, PBL focuses on the students' ability to critically think, collaborate, and apply their knowledge to authentic challenges.

Teaching Practice

The first time I taught, I was very nervous. Moreover, I taught in English, which is not my mother tongue. Well, you could say I went here with recklessness. But after I did demo teaching in the first hour, I was more able to control the class. From the first nervous to more calm. it is true the saying "practice makes perfect"

The class starts by getting students to think about why there are big mountains in the himalayas and giving them the fact that India was not part of the Asian continent.

followed by listening to videos and explanations about the Convergent Plate Boundary itself

And the last activity is a practice on how continent vs. continent convergent plate boundary can form a mountain.
